Our Story
Established in 1926, Hotel Gosford is a local institution, serving the community for almost a century. Having recently undergone a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2022, the new Hotel Gosford is set to reimagine the local pub experience.
Drawing inspiration from the hotel’s rich history and the roaring twenties, Hotel Gosford’s new look incorporates rich dark timbers and touches of brass, ambient lighting and a timeless colour palette. Raked ceilings have been installed in the new area to create a sense of space, drawing your eyes up to the high windows and butterfly shaped roof – a nod to the past, yet now a contemporary, warm and welcoming space.
The new, main area has been thoughtfully considered - the perfect place to catch up with friends, celebrate with loved ones or simply enjoy a quick bite to eat. Elements including exposed brick, steel and raw concrete create a timeless feel and the tall brick walls of the main façade mirror the original colonnades of the original historic building that stood in the 1920s.
At the heart of the hotel, you’ll find Earl’s Kitchen. With a focus on flavour and top quality, the new menu features a selection of delicious pub classics, fresh, produce-focused salads along with locally sourced seafood, tender steaks and rotisserie meats.
The hotel is complete with The Saloon, our sports bar, showing mega screen sport ‘til late seven days a week. Welcome to Hotel Gosford, everything you’ve come to expect, but better.
Our History
The heritage-listed Hotel Gosford has been part of the Central Coast’s social scene since 1926.
Proudly family-owned and operated, Hotel Gosford was purchased by local publican Peter Harris in 1998. His family remain at the helm of the hotel’s operations, with Peter’s son, Jordan now overseeing the day-to-day running of the venue along with the recent, biggest and boldest renovation Hotel Gosford has ever experienced. Committed to respecting the roots and heritage both of the building itself and the Gosford area, the Harris family are fiercely passionate about keeping the history of the venue alive, while creating a new and contemporary space for the Central Coast community to call home.
Oh, and if you’re staying at Hotel Gosford, it’s worth checking out the heritage-listed elevator. Quite literally, take a ride back in time and feel a sense of Hollywood glamour when you close the gates and head up to your rooms.
